At the young age of 32, Robert L. Wilken received the prestigious "Master of Photography" degree, and he became the recipient of the "Photographic Craftsman" degree the following year. These are two of the highest honors granted by the Professional Photographers of America.

Being named to the "Rocky Mountain Masters Court of Honors" made him one of the top five Masters of Photography in the Rocky Mountain region.

Other accomplishments include:

• Two time winner of Colorado's "Photographer of the Year"
• Winner of Colorado's "Most Creative Photographer fo the Year."
• Kodak/Disney "EPCOT" award, one of 150 photos selected from more than 7000 prints.
• "Top 50" photographs, from more than 7000 photos entered for the "Masters Traveling Loan Collection." This print traveled on display in Japan, Britain, and the United States.
• 2005 KFOR Lucky Day Calendar artist. Photos were of the historical pre-renovation Sunken Gardens
